OMG we certainly are meaning-making machines. My grandmother often used to quote this line by Shakespeare, 'There's nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.' Today's Day 2 of a new daily practice to look for something inspiring, thought-provoking, insightful from my day's adventuring! Amazing where inspiration can come from. I've been deeply and profoundly inspired by a young's man's reaction to the 'tragic' tale of his fluffy chicken, and I bet he doesn't even know it! If you cracked open a book or started watching a movie, that featured the blandest of characters and the most predictable of plots, would you continue watching? When it comes to entertainment, it's the wild crazy twists and turns that make a story thrilling and exhilarating. There's a deliciousness in not knowing what's coming next that makes the experience so magical. It's the intensity of the emotional ride that fans the flames of passionate recommendations! Learning to surf is still way up there on my bucket list. It's such a profound symbol for me of the balance between DOING and BEING. DOING in terms of showing up to the learning process and BEING in terms of being nowhere but on the board, deeply present to the moment, in time of surfing itself. What about playing with the idea of our lives, being an opportunity to experience riding the ever cresting wave of life itself? Hmm...and what about our lives being an opportunity to experience the reading, the screening of the greatest story ever told?
